PISSED OFF wife thread

Thought I would start it off. I know you guys are out there. I finally got the watch I've been waiting for. I told my wife I spent $300 on another watch and she went off. I can't even enjoy the watch now. I told her I have a few potential sales on the forum to make up for the funds. What makes it worse is that I just bought a gen Rolex Explorer II four months ago and told her it would be my last watch. My mistake there.

This hobby can be an addiction. Plain and simple, I love watches.

Figure this can be a place where we could share stories and gain support from our fellow members.

LOL. This is why I run the show at home. I'm the bread winner and provider so I do what I like with the money. I take care of the finances at home.

I bet she buys heaps of shoes/jewelry/bags. Do you nag her about that?

I have my watches mailed to my work. And pay only on my PayPal account that I had long before I knew her linked to a credit card I had again long before I knew her. And then I just make small payments on to the card over time. She never notices and is always asking "Is that a new watch?". I just reply "You always say that! I just changed the strap so it looks different."

Or, crazy idea I know, but agree a monthly budget that's yours, transfer to PP account when you get paid and then spend within your limits. I'd rather wait a month or two to save for a watch than have to conceal things from the wife or risk an argument over something so silly.

As long as your not impeding on providing for the family/kids why hide watch purchases? And how do you hide it when your collection just grows and grows.

I gotta say, it must have been nicer being a married man 40 years ago. Women wouldn't feel so entitled to be in control as they try to today. Don't get me wrong, the respect for the spouse remains the same but let's not forget who the head of the house is.
