Rolex 16610 Sub

So, I thought I would dip my toe in the previously unexplored waters of regular size rolex subs.

I previously had a BK DSSD (my 1st rep) and that turned out to be a great lump of a watch that taught me a lesson about researching before jumping in.

I don't like the look of the modern 116610 sub, but really liked the look of the TC and TW subs so decided to buy a cheaper one to make sure I got on with the size.

This is what arrived today, an A2836 powered sub ordered from Lucy. I actually ordered a noob, but as this was no longer available, I accepted this as a replacement. No idea which maker this is from, so any thoughts would be appreciated (apologies in advance for my poor iPhone pics):

One thing that has really surprised me is how much lighter this watch is than my 42mm planet ocean. I am guessing this is down to the strap and hollow links:

Do I like it? Yes, its a really good size for my wrist, so time to start saving for a TC or BK :thumbsup:

A lot of people hate on the hollow midlinks, and I get why. BUT I like the hollow midlinks because it makes the watch so much lighter. I prefer a lightweight watch for daily wear. And it's a SPORTSWATCH, right?! lol

I've been back and forth between 16610 and 116610 reps since I found RWI, and I keep coming back to the 16610...

Congrats!
The only upgrade for that watch is a better pearl/insert, gen or mod.
After you have worn that one around and studied it awhile. you will really appreciate when you finally get a TC, Wm9, or Bk's new offering. I like the size of this series-39.5mm best. They lost the whole industrial tool watch design when they went to the supercase 40mm with it's beefed up case and shiny insert. To me the 16610 series is the perfect size.

Don't think it's a noob 16610, cause the TD couldn't get one - are you thinking of the 116610 v2 ceramic sub, or have I missed a new noob 16610?

Really not a question of gen vs. Rep.... with that number it makes me wonder about the bezel construction,,,, lol wouldn't it be lucky to get a gen construction case for a 100 bucks!

If it was a gen ETA, for the price I would be well chuffed, but deep down I know it's a clone :

You know what the 2836-2 is my go to movement...I can tear into one blindfolded and brother there's not a dollars difference between the two...as a matter of fact I commonly interchange parts between ETA and clone. There's very little difference.

Sorry for my ignorance, other than the strap being two tone and the bezel gold, what difference with the 16613 - a different size/dimension case? Not the same case just with different model number?

Can I ask, what are the differences?
