Hi all,
My personal favourite type of strap is rubber (then followed by leather and metal definitely last). There are custom leather strap makers here. Is there any good group or website with good rubber straps. I am looking for a Tag Heuer one to replace a metal strap. If you are ordering a strap is it just the gap measurement of the strap you have to worry about.
Any advice would be welcome
Thanks
Debbie

Debbie, you need to know the lug width of the strap, and also the length of the strap, all in millimetres. So a typical strap might be 20mm lug width, 120mm long hole side and 80mm long buckle side.

In addition, not all straps are the same width along their entire length, so a strap might be 20mm at the lug end, tapering to 18mm at the buckle end.

When ordering your strap, measure your wrist, and then work out how much 'overlap' you like when the strap is done up. The correct strap size will then be wrist size - case size + overlap.

Example, your wrist measures 160mm, your watch case is 45mm, and you like an overlap of 40mm.

160 - 45 + 40 = 155mm strap overall length.

If you order a strap in really thick leather, ie. 5mm or more, add 10mm to the overall length.

Hope this helps.

You can probably ask a TD to source you one. Not sure how difficult it would be considering that makers prefer to sell the whole watch rather than just a strap.
