I remember driving home from work (UK+5hrs) and listening to DJ Steve Wright on radio 2 saying they had reports of a light aircraft hitting one of the towers.

I got home 20mins later with my wife calling me to watch the TV reports. I could hardly believe what I was seeing, it was like a disaster movie. We sat there for some hours in total disbelief of what was happening right in front of us.

Two months earlier a friend of ours had relocated to NYC working for Morgan Stanley based in one of the towers. By good chance that day she was flying out of town and was already airborne.

Our thoughts and support are with you always.

+1 Phil,

I remember in that shirt car ride the MSNBC news talking about a small aircraft like a Cessna crashing into the Tower (north or south) and interviewing an Arab sounding man as a witness. ZERO talk of terrorism then, just fire and "wow the FDNY is going to be worked to the nines". Soon after that it was sickeningly apparent it was terrorism.

Don't expect the 'blame America first' crowd to post in this thread.

Impossible to forget the events of 9-11, but we have rebuilt and that is a great message to the rest of the world. The American people have great resolve and it's what has made our nation strong. As always thoughts and prayers to those who lost loved ones from the attacks.

This is the most important message in this thread.
