I gave my boss my explorer ii cause he wanted in on the rep world and he's had it for a little over a month. He has a couple of guys at his house doing work on his deck and one of the guys asked his wife if he could use the restroom so she lets him in and he comes out about 5min later they finish the job and left. After they're gone she goes to the bedroom for something and sees his explorer is gone and 2 gens are gone as well. People suck I can't believe it. He didn't take the rest of the jewelry just three watches. Wtf

She called him and he is dealing with the landlord and told him three watches were stolen the landlord is filing a lawsuit against the company so I think he is going to get gen money back and hopefully I will get a piece hahaha.

Is that not just as wrong as stealing. Getting gen money for a rep?

Man that is a low life action on the thieves part. Sorry to hear it.

Depending on the value of his gens and the insurance he carries, I doubt he will get full replacement costs on the gens. In addition, the insurance companies are not stupid. You will need to have proof of purchase for the Homage watch to recover some funds.

Since you said "landlord" I will assume he has content insurance... I hope.

I was kidding guys. So here's the update. The guy admitted to stealing the watches. He brought them to his drug dealer who he owed $4,000 to and traded the three watches to pay his debt and to get a bunch of heroin. his boss (who is a really good friend of my boss) is on his way to go buy the watches back from the dealer. What a scumbag

Wow! I would hate to get involved in that deal but kudos to the contractor. I hope he gets his watches back. Best of luck.

Really? His boss is going to go to a drug dealer and get the watches back? Either he is stupid or involved.

For now. we will see how this all plays out in the end as long as he gets his watches back that's all that matters to me. As far as I'm concerned shame on his buddy for hiring a junkie who can't support his own habits.

It is because of shit like this my house now has surveillance cameras on every corner and room, even in my bedroom, plus access zones alarms, nobody can be trusted.

I am sure you had other reasons to put cameras up as well.

It's too bad that somebody's insurance isn't going to cover it. Does your boss have tenant insurance? With my insurance there was no deductible and no claim "penalty" of any sort if the thief is caught and convicted. They go after the thief instead and his wages are basically garnished for life until it's paid back, even after a bankruptcy claim apparently.

When it happened to me I had a handful Diesel and Fossil watches stolen that I paid between $50-$150 for. Insurance gave me between $250-$800 a watch because it was the full retail replacement value. I was completely honest and gave them receipts for the cheap value, but they were more than happy to pay me the higher amount since the police caught the thief.

I wouldn't want my watches back from a thief, especially a drug dealer. Let the police auction take care of the watches while your boss gets paid by the insurance company.

That's terrible, I hope he gets them back. I had a security system installed a few years ago. Every room, window and doors are monitored. No cameras though,............well, one in the bedroom.......:hehehe: Seriously though. I feel it was the best investment that I have made and it is cheap to have one installed. And we pay 35 bucks a month to have it monitored.

In our town there is not violent crimes, but a lot of druggies stealing all the time. But you never know with someone on drugs what they are going to do. I keep a 12 gauge in the room and my conceal carry weapon is always on me. For added security we also have a 110 pound Rottweiler and a boxer that are both very protective. Our bobcat is actually very protective too surprisingly for a cat. His growl will make your hairs stand on end.

Good luck, hope they get the watches back.

Watches were returned to the wife. The guys boss covered the costs. the kid has voluntarily agreed to stay employed have wages garnished and is checking into rehab per conditions of remaining employed. I think that is a great ending to all of this. What a nice guy the boss is. He told my boss that his conscience wouldn't allow him to just dump this kid knowing he has some serious problems. I think that speaks volumes about the owner of the company. I'm sure he will be watching diligently.
