Help! My just arrived noob v2 Sub, (yesterday)cyclops just fell off while I was sitting at my office desk! I found it under said desk. Now what? Quick search of the forum and I see someone way back when used a Super Glue brand UV activated Glass Adhesive. Can/Should I use this or does anyone have another idea?

Other than the cyclops falling off!@#$! I love the watch. It looks/looked very Gen. I was going to post some pics, but I think I'LL wait till later ;-)

P.S. I bought this from a TD who is great! I don't blame him at all, just some 5 year old in the factory:spank:

Is there glue residue? I feel like it would look better w/o cyclops

Contact your dealer, get them to ship you a new crystal, same thing happened with my old noob Exp II....

To re-glue you would lose the AR, because it was inherent to the way the cyclops was glued and would need to be removed first, at least it was on my crystal ;)

Here is a pic of the Exp II :)

I remember I could actually pick off the AR/glue with my nail....

Leave it off, all they do is collect grime and muck anyway.....

Guys,
I'd really like to fix the cyclops because: #1 having owned a couple of Gen's, this watch, was a great rep right out of the box (except for the clasp, which is pretty much crap) and #2 I just got the freaking thing Yesterday!

If anyone has had this issue and found a DIY fix I would be very grateful. I'm a noob to the rep world and fixing watches. I can tune motorcycles and such.

Thanks

Hi,

Ok, this is probably not what a lot of members would recommend, but through experience it does work well. Use G.S Hypo cement, put plenty on and don't worry about overspill on the crystal it can be taken off easily when dried.

Make sure you get enough on not to create an air bubble under the Cyclops it looks a mess. Clean off all existing adhesive from both the crystal and the Cyclops. Be careful when cleaning the Cyclops it is only mineral glass (it will scratch and chip easily) and not sapphire crystal.

Put the hypo cement (plenty) on the crystal at the date window, place the Cyclops over the date window and press down firm enough to displace any air bubbles under it. Position the date window in the correct position, you have a good few minutes to move it about, then leave it to dry (24 hours). Do not attempt to move it after about 15 mins you'll ruin the bond.

When dry, use a craft blade to trip off the excess glue, it will come off very easily, its not hard work. Do not try and trim off before the drying period.

I guarantee you won't get it off when dry !!!

Why not use what you're supposed to. Use UV glue and do it the correct way. It only takes a few minutes and it's a lot easier than replacing the crystal. Just make sure you read the instructions and that there is no residue on the cyclops or crystal. The SuperGlue brand is as good as the stuff on eBay.
