Hey chaps, recently i have a submariner build which consist of a eta 2824 clone. Been reading that the stock canon pinion is too low and it make it look like a rep.. So to eliminate the rep factor, is to put a #4 canon pinion to make it higher. But my point is does anybody put the #5 canon pinion/hour wheel in it? Cus the watch shop that i frequently patronize to have only the #5 left. They ran out of the #4. And will never have stock as eta parts is very ex. Thanks. Btw the submariner im referring to was submariner ceramic. :)

The person I know that's very familiar with this is Thomas, TC subs.
You might contact him for info about this.

If you go #5, usually the seconds hand tube is too short to reach the fourth wheel shaft unless you also replace the fourth wheel.

Oh so the best is to replace all three pinion right? The second hand, hour and minute?

The only one that's a "pinion" is the minute hand (cannon pinion). The hour wheel sits around it and is easy to replace from the front, but replacing the fourth wheel requires removing the autowinding assembly (easy) and taking off the bridge that covers the gear train (not that hard, but annoying and fussy to get right).
