Hi Folks,

First post on the site so go easy on me. Just bought an IWC Top Gun from Trusty Time (Andrew) and received it in 7 days, wow.

However having closely inspected the watch i note that the large chrono second hand does not line up at the bottom (facing the 6 o'clock) mark. I have attached some pics for you to review. sorry for the poor quality pics, taken from my phone.

I would appreciate your input in this matter. Should i be sending this back or am i being to unreasonable?

Firstly, welcome to the site.

Secondly this is something that you should be picking up on during the QC phase. This is the time when you pore over them looking for any mistakes. This is not something that really you would want to be returning a watch for. Mainly because you should have noticed in the QC and you've already said the watch was ok. But also because returning watches to dealers is a round trip that generally can take a month, or a few months depending on various factors.

If it's really really bugging you then send it to a watchsmith who can remove and replace the hands and hopefully make it line up.

From those pics it looks off just by a fraction, I've seen gens worse than that.

Agreed, that this should have been picked up by the QC pics, but the QC pics did not show the misalignment this bad as most of the pics are at an angle. Have a look at the QC pics.

maybe i am being too picky, rather than send it back which will cost circa £20.00 each way, and the risk of being stopped at customs either side, the time probably a month, maybe i should get one of the boards modders/watchsmiths to service the movment and align the needle? would you recommend some one to me? in the UK?

Service is not required unless it's not running well. We have Alex in the UK and he should be able to remove the hands and re-align them no problem. Look for him in the tech section.

I had same subtle misalignment and have it at the watch smith for that and a service. Pretty easy fix
