When i go to dominican republic i take one gen and a rep, if i go to an area that i know is weird, i don't use them, thats all, and if you got a cheap Casio, wear it, i don't think you'll get your arm cut of for a casio lol, or do you?

You should compliment the blingiest rolex you can find with some nice diamond bracelets.

Seriously man?... after the last thread where people took their time to post links to the Rolex gangs who will cut your arm of for your watch.

If you really still need to ask, just wear the Hamilton so at least when you lose an arm it will be a little more worth it, cuz you would hate to lose an arm for a rep.

If your arm looks like this, you should be OK...

This is a funny thread. I live in Johannesburg. Earlier this year when I was robbed at gunpoint, they did not ask for the iwc on my arm. So, you'll be fine.

In all seriousness if you are likely to drink heavily and insist on leaving the tour group, you are opening yourself to sh1t. Dont rock your camera like a necklace, stare at your ipad, or count forex. A milgaus is very very likely to go unnoticed. Rely on your common sense and enjoy this amazing place and its people.

Maybe if you just wave to all the locals, just to let them know you're friendly....

Some people in Africa might consider it to be provocative....

Hell, even I'd rob this guy, just because I figure he deserved it...

I'm from South Africa and I wear my reps happily. Never been mugged or robbed. I suggest you research the areas you will be travelling in. You can get robbed any where, wrong place at the wrong time.

I'd exchange that ticket for one to England or Germany...

I have worn high end reps in a lot of "high risk" places like Colombia, Venezuela, Kenya, Tanzania, Colon Panama, as long as you just take it off when going into the "rough places" it is not a big risk but if you are not so good at judging what places and events you should take all things off before entering you should leave it at home.

Wear a blinged out watch with diamonds and go around showing it off, make sure you let people know they are blood diamonds. Yolo.

While it is true that locals might be able to pull that off, tourists who are unfamiliar with the area are much more likely to be targeted, and also much more likely to find themselves in unsafe areas.

Colombia is not that dangerous, unless you are going in hoods ( which are not tourist destinations ) or downtown. And you can wear any watch you want, even a gen, because here in colombia we are very used to replicas of all type, so everyone thinks everyone elses watch is replica, or worse most of the people dont know watch brands besides rolex ( and for them is a replica because everyone has one here) , and thats like 70 % of the population if its not more LOL. What you need to take care of is your smartphones, theyll kill for any phone
