Price angels GMT question

I wasn't sure where to post this as I am still new, but I figured this is as good a place as any. I ordered a price angels GMT, and of course was disappointed. I bought it, not so that I could have an accurate rep, but so I can making sterile GMT with sword hands. The dial has no lume, just paint not even close to centered on the markers, but fine, I'm putting a new dial anyway. My question is, the GMT hand doesn't turn independently, as the video posted their site showed. I'm wondering if this is because something is broken or the watch doesn't actually have a GMT movement. I'm very new to watch repair, but was hoping I could open it up and hopefully determine which of these it was. I'm fine with sending it back to china, I'm just not sure if another one will have the same problem.

Sending it back to china is a waste of time. Stick it out and try to fix it.

How would I go about that though? I'm relatively comfortable opening it and removing the movement, but I am lost from there. The other option would be simply to turn it into a sterile sub homage, and when I put new hands on leave off the GMT hand, but I'd like to keep it if it worked of course.

EDIT: the other problem with it is that it came with hollow endlinks not solid like the picture, but I have a feeling all of them are this way.

I think they're all hollow. I bought a gmt from them and worked fine. Buying from them you have to understand that its a low end piece, you can't expect much. Its best for practicing mods or just a cheap beater. If breaks during your mod, then no harm because its a given, as with most low ends.

I don't mod so I can't tell you how to but you can dig around here and find some great tutorial that shows you how to.

Thanks, I'll look around and see what I can find. Thus far it seems no one else who ordered the GMT had a problem with the hand not working, or at least didn't post about it.

On the cheapest 21J the stem can be a very loose fit. On screw release it should be in the winding position; the next position 'should' adjust the date in one direction and move the GMT hand in the other but this can be very fiddly. I have had two that the stem needed to be moved gently back and forth for it to engage the GMT hand.

Next pull should hack for time changing and be firm

PriceAngels is pretty much the bottom of the barrel as far as watches are concerned. Not worth your time or theirs returning them. If you're planning on modding then why not just buy a sterile case set from Helenarou and drop in a movement. Job done.

Because that was more than I wanted to spend, and I assumed that the GMT hand would at least work, clearly an assumption I shouldn't have made. Any way to open it up other than a duct tape ball? Don't want to rip off the sticker on the back just yet, tried a jar opener to no avail

No it should work. It's just that it's such a cheap watch and movement that firstly shipping would probably cost half of the watch and secondly the movement is only like 15 bucks.

It seems its not broken, but I guess has a DG3804 which is the non-GMT version of the DG3804B?

I just saw this post. I tried playing with it, and seeing if I could get it into a postion where it adjusts the GMT hand but I can't. The date is fine but when I turn the other way the watch just clicks.
