Hey guys,
This was purchased and addimitley described to me as a WM9 watch purchased from Roger/George a long while ago (said he payed close to $600). One of my buddies pointed out to me that he had some concerns of it really being a WM9 watch. There has been no mods done, it's not stated as a bk wm9 etc. please tell me what your expert opinion is if you know the watch. It's supposed to have the ETA 2678-2 MOVEMENT.

I really hope I didn't get screwed :(

WM9 verification......

Any pictures of the movement?? Sure way to know if that could be seen. Something very different on the movement AND how it is mounted. It will have a large movement mounting ring made of solid brass, and should weigh almost or exactly like the genuine thing. Exact model only. [+ or - a few grams]. Watch case [head only]. That should settle your question. Any watchmaker worth his salt would unscrew that watch.......take it home and post photos......take it right back to screw it right back for a couple of bucks. Hoping it is what it is.........good luck.

The 2678 is a LADIES movememt...like 26mm ish..The early Wm9's had that 2678 mounted in a big obvious mounting ring. Impossible to miss and
those crown guards dont look Wm9 to me, but what do I know.

Also the center link of the Endlink? Are the side edges bare or plated?

It was purchased from Roger and George and I should know as I own the watch Eric.

I also have 3 Sea-Dwellers and 2 16610's and 2 16610LV's and they are all WM9 builds.

Every sale of a WM9 caliber should be accompanied by a movement shot... where is it?

The movement shot may not be helpful, unless it is a 2824. If I am not mistaken, the wm9 subs that were 2 tone were mostly based on the v3 case. This is definitely not a wm9 v3 case. The dial and lume also look off.

If I had to make a guess on WTH this is, I will guess a Euromariner with noob dial....just a guess. Still a decent watch but not wm9 quality IMHO.

I know there are guys who know way more about these 2 tone versions, and will chime in.

I agree, I have four of them and that is definitely not a wm9 v3 case...

No one is claiming its a v3 case :( it's most likely an early version from the sellers explanation. Any variance in the early wm9 cases / dial etc??

I think we'd all be more interested in seeing a thread with pictures of these so-called WM9 SD's
