There's been a couple of stumbling blocks on this build that have made it very challenging. Firstly the tube for the gen crown was too small for the tube hole in the case. The CousinsUK tube that I had didn't fit the crown. That meant that I had to use the rep crown and tube combo. You can see in the earlier completed case shots that the crown stood quite proud of the crownguards. Without being able to mill the inside level of the crownguards it meant modifying and reducing the height of both the crown and the tube. By hand.
Secondly the WSO bezel assembly was a complete bitch to fit and make work. It probably took at least 3 hours of time to mill the retaining ring and then fine tune the bezel assembly so the bugger would turn freely but still have enough friction to hold the bezel when you set it.
Metallica here's : Master of Puppets.
Bons is : Master of Vintage Built.
Now Bons wait the white DWO.
We've seen in a Rolex forum that the 1680 and the 1675 fitted a silver DWO also.
But I prefere for the Gmt a white DWO.
I don't like too much the silver color in this watch. Now We can pray and wait for the coming of this white DWO 6'n'9 opened.
Cheers
