That Time A Rolex Explorer Sold For $182,000

That is an astonishing price for such a simple, albeit beautiful, watch. Not a bad original investment considering the original $200-$300 1970's purchase price ($1,200-$1,800 in 2013 money)! Another model moving on up to the East side.

Rarity of the white dial I suppose. Quite a premium considering black dials go from $6,500 to $15,000.

Haha — I love me a good 1016, but I even think this one is playing out well out of its league. I'd rather take a couple of cruddy ol' 6239 PN Daytonas for the same amount.

If they rep it, I still wouldn't buy it.

As a man said to me when I offered him (what to me was) a significant discount on a 535 I had in stock, "Mr Rickxxx, price is not always the most important factor."
