hi guys
as the title i am going to start my new vintage project.. rolex sea dweller 1665 gw. from josh.
i have just seen some good piece.and i have some question for the 1665 expert..
i have just byed a ingod rail dial..fabulous in my opinion..
now im checkin for what insert choose..
for the glass i think to use a t39 gen model..
what do you think about this pieces?
and last question..i have seen in the gen, caseback has ROLEX mark in circular mode..in josh rep is in diagonal mode..is there a gen in diagonal marks or not?

are your sure? i have a friend that has just mount a yuki dial same diameter..on his josh 5513 case..
btw if dont fit in..i provide to mount it in a mbw case..but anyone tells that josh case is rep of mbw case... all wrong infos?

i have also checked some weeks ago an old 3d in rg by bonesey. 1665 cases - gen dial compatible.

Ingod rail dial, gen crown/tube and gen T39. Jmb did the work and I think there was minor sanding to get the crystal to fit.
I wasn't 100% happy with it, case seemed a tiny bit too tall. I found a nos old school MBW 1665 case set with the proper mods and shipped the whole mess back to Jmb. He transferred all my parts to the MBW.

the 5513 is a different case set to the 1665, I think you'll also find that Woof* was using an older case set with the old style construction. The new ones are different I think.

Honestly I would measure your case/dial before going any further.

I have one of Josh's Great Whites and the dial is bigger than 26.3mm. It's nothing like a mbw case, especially not a 5513 case which is what you probably need.

I'd say my dial is probably over 28mm.

Interesting, your case from Josh seems to be a totally different one than I bought from him about a year ago. Bezel, dial and insert all look slightly different.

I've got a recent cartel 1665 sitting on the workbench at home. If I remember, in a few weeks when I get home I'll measure the dial seat, dial opening and the cartel dial itself.

I've just finished modding a Cartel 1665 but it has gone to its new home so I can't measure it, sorry!

It was a really nice watch though, usual CG issues and the crown was slightly off, however, for the basis for a cheap "8/10" build it was great. Gen spec springbars, case, face and hands aged, and a splash-proofing made for a really nice looking watch.

I have a cartel 1665 and the dial measures 27mm, i can only measure it with a ruler as i dont have digital calliper.
