Got myself a nice Paris as a bay present, when I got it I opened it up to check the gaskets were oiled and everything was right and was greeted by this thing

Looks like a clone 2836 no? But it gets weird, the watch is too cheap for such a movement, got it for 100 bucks. Followed by it being a 21600bph instead of the high beat 28800. I've looked all over and can't find anything so I figured you guys might know

Seems a bit too decorated. It has all the signs of a 2836 including the amount the needles move per rotation of crown, winds in both directions of the rotor and the reversing wheels have two jewels like clone movements do. Its literally a low beat 2836

straight up, 21J...
It for sure is no 21j. Just look at this seagull 2836 clone
85bc232b.jpg

it is identical except mine has more balls on the rotor, the markings and different balance wheel sock absorption. everything else is identical.
Plus as I said the hands don't move enough per turn of the crown to be a 21j and it winds in two directions which no 21j that I've heard of does. It is some sort of 21600 2836 clone. Maybe what's sometimes put in older Rolex reps.

guys, it is a 2846 probably, 21600 version of the 2836. it may have a 2888 stamp under the balance wheel. Low beat eta.

"Just look at this seagull 2836 clone"

thats not a seagull.

I think its a poor tolerance 2836 clone, therefore 21 600 BPH

Or a decorated 2846. I mostly want to know so I can later on swap a high beat movement in it. Likely a seagull st21

I bought one of those from you rsh...the "send you hunting Google"for a 2888 ETA. It was in a Sandoz head. Its in my 1675 now w/a clones GMT complcation added. Seems like makers like Tugaris ground the 2846 stamp off a restamped them as 2888.

Look close at the rotor bearing....screams ETA I agree 2846

And everything done to the movement is not done by the maker but by the movement factory.
If you buy enough they stamp what you want. ( the same applies for the type of regulator and the decoration)
