Hi all,

I'm facing some troubles maybe... with an a7750 from a Pam, no chrono...

The thing started a few days ago, somehow, I started to hear a click click click from the rotor, i thought it would just be the winding, as it sounds just for one side... But i after thought I have never heard it since I got the watch two weeks ago... So, it seemed strange... I took the caseback off and checked and I saw two things... One, the rotor seems to spin free for both sides, i can hear the click, and two, there are some missing theets from a wheel in one of the sides, it turns when I turn the crown to wind it, i must aclare that I NEVER wound it by hand, just put it on and wear it since I got it...
I took it yesterday at night and it didn't pass the night, barely 6 hours of power, in the morning I hold it and tried to make the rotor spin and nothing happened, the second hand didn't move...
I wound it by hand, carefully and it started, but there was a moment when the crown stopped, i put a little pressure and the movement sound like CLICK and now, "seems" almost normal....

What could have happened, why those theets where missing....??

Thanks.

Yikes. An A7750 which wont wind with the rotor is a recipie for disaster.

Ive heard lots of stories of stripping teeth when hand winding. Its not recommended.

Sounds like the winding mechanism jammed at some point and the rotor took out some teeth.

Darn.... What could I do? Is fixable for a watch smith?

Now it seems to wind with the rotor, but is still spinning loose both sides....

Would this be a future problem...?

It would probably be fixable by a watchsmith, but only by a rep friendly watchsmith.
Reason being lots of the internal parts are not interchangable with gen ETA 7750 parts, so your watchsmith will have to have rep parts on hand.

Im not sure i understand your statement..." but is still spinning loose both sides...." could you further explain?

And as far as a future problem.....I really cant say

My best suggestion is if its running well now....run it till it breaks, then worry about it

I meant that the watch seemed to be running fine and the rotor seemed to wind, but it was still spinning loose both sides... , but is not true, it ran for a couple of hours and now it gets stopped again... When I try to wind via the crown, it makes a turn or two and get stucked....

Well then i think youll have to get it to a rep friendly watchsmith, altho i dont have a particular one to recommend, not all like to work on 7750s.

Swapping with as gen 7750 is going to be overwhelmingly costly and difficult (about $500 for the 7750 and then having it modded to a non chrono, then youll need to source new hands as they a7750 hands wont fit the gen 7750)

Its also very hard to source a A7750 nonchrono, so once again a watchsmith is probably your best bet at this time.

Id also suggest posting this in the Replica Watch General Discussion area as it will get more traffic and hopefully better answers than i was able to provide for you.

Where are you at?

You could try to contact one of our (RWI) watchsmiths and see if they could take on the job. Wiz, Katt or "14060 or 16610? "

Good luck and keep us posted ?

I surely dont know any watchsmiths in Ururguay.

PecMan lives in Bolivia, i believe and might be able to help you out in finding one.

Or start hittng up our Watchmakers and Horologists on the list.

Actaully how long have you had the watch ? You might want to try to get with who sold you the watch first if it was a TD and see what they say first before going any futher.
