Well, I finally got a response after a week to tell me that he can't get any more PAM111 beginners until a new batch are made. Could have told me this last week when I ordered, but obviously not, because he wouldn't have got my cash then, would he? I told him I wasn't willing to wait (because no timeframe was given,so I assume he has no idea when these will be available again) and requested a refund. Got a reply saying he would refund me. That was yesterday, and no refund to my Paypal account so far. It seems the two minute job is just too much for him to do, even though the transaction details, amount and Paypal address are all in the emails between us. Wonder how long I have to wait to get my money back into my account?
I personally wouldnt sweat it just yet. Give it a bit of time. Reputation means the world to any international seller who uses paypal.
you realize you wield a ton more power over paypal than any seller does. its easy to get your money back over paypal if the seller has wronged you; especially if you have a history of being a paypal user (because paypal wants your business).
All you have to do is call up paypal and explain the situation. On top of that you could say its a replica scam and they will limit the sellers account (thus his business and livelyhood); do not do this though its a super dick move unless its a str8 scam. Sellers are a lot more exposed via paypal than buyers are.
Yes that would be a dick move and I do not recommend it unless as an absolute last resort (IMO an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth). But understand that in the eyes of Paypal its the buyer (not the seller) who wields true power. Paypal WILL get your back over any seller if push comes to shove. Paypal needs buyers who TRUST PAYPAL (not sellers) in order to make their money... and thats what it all comes down to now doesnt it?
Ive gotten scammed a couple times over PayPal and the issue has been resolved in under 3 business days each time with a simple phone call; I waited 2 months before I called paypal each time too so IMO i gave ample time for the merchant to rectify the issue. On top of that each time the seller involved was trying stupid stalling tactics not communicating with me in a timely manner and would also try BS counter offers and whatnot and paypal didnt have have any of it and just shut them down and returned my money with a smile and a simple click of a button.
However, escalating anything to this level is an absolute last resort. Respect the dealers reputation and give him time; treat other people the way you would like to be treated if the roles were reversed. An international sellers reputation with paypal is literally their livelyhood. This forum and these TDs are providing a great service for us imo and deserves the benefit of the doubt.
