What movement is the asian 21j a copy of??

as title states i cant seem to find out what movement is the a
Asian 21j is a copy of?

more specifically this watch movement..

I don't think it's a copy of any Swiss movement. Could be a copy of the ETA 2846, which runs at 21000 bph as well. But I am not sure.

looks like Miyota 8205/8215.

I basically just wanted to do a movement swap on some of the cheap reps i like to be more reliable, and give me some projects to work on.

Think i have to crack some 21j's open and have a look.

Yes, the A21J is a loose copy of the Miyota 8125. If you want to replace one for a more reliable movement, you could just use a new DG2813, available from Cousins or Ofrei. The DG2813 basically is an A21J that has been properly assembled and lubricated, and is the best version. They are a pretty solid workhorse, IMO.

They are about $25-30 or so in the UK, I think Ofrei sells for slightly less.

Problem is that you have to buy a few to make the shipping worthwhile.
