Date disc not centered in window? (1680 eta 2846 )

I am so stumped. I recently purchased this from a rwi member and it was advertised as having a broken date wheel. I had a spare eta2824 that I am swapping in its place but when I put the dial on, the date is too Fargo the right of the window. You can actually see the inner edge and teeth of the date wheel.

What am I doing wrong?

the old one had a cover datewheel on it ,, if u still have it just take the cover datewheel off of the one that came with it and glue it to your existing datewheel to fit the window properly ,, there should be a how to somewhere here, i know i did them years ago and made a diy on it ,, but its be a long time ago ,, hope this helps , if u want more details on how to do it ,, just email me

you will need a date wheel overlay to correct that

btw i just reread your post and wanted u to know most of those vintage used a eta 2836 not 2824 so u may have to get the 2836 and it may line up ,, just from my experience

The problem is that your dial has the 6x9 display and the date wheel is not. The date wheel hoeing in the picture is the standard eta one. Use the overlay and you'll be ok.

Ah. So glad to know I'm missing a overlay. The seller mentioned that he had one but forgot to send it. I assumed the standard eta one would just align. This is my first time attempting this. Thanks RWI!!
