Most of you are aware of the 99% rule and how people don't know much about watches. Correct? Well i had a couple of incidents in the past confirming that rule but today's story is really nice!
So a friend of mine (not a close one) called me this afternoon to accompany him at a local watch shop as to choose a watch. He knows my madness and he wanted my opinion and when it's about watches i can't say no...
Here i am with my friend standing at the door, taking a quick look at some models he had there. Nothing big, swatch mainly, tissot, casio and a few seikos. It's a small town so not a big retailer here since the interest for high end watches is low.
He saw a swatch he liked and we entered to give a try. He tested a couple of them, asking how much is it on each one. He was aiming at something around 100-200 euros top from what i understood.
After wearing around 10 swatches he then saw a tissot. I didn't know the model but it was a fine piece. He wears it, he checks his wrist and he tells me (i was standing beside him all the time) that's very nice, i think i will take it. What do you think? Do you know that brand?
Well, i told him, its a nice, simple and classy watch. I like it!
And here is the dialogue followed.
My friend: how much is it?
Watch guy: 480 euros.
My friend: 480 euros? Why that much?
Watch guy: Well that's an automatic watch.
My friend: Automatic? What do you mean? (Oh you should have seen my face at that point)
Watch guy: It means that it doesn't use a battery.
My friend: What???? How is that possible???? How is the watch working then???
5 minutes of explanation followed, after that my friend was so excited, especially when the guy showed him a tissot with open case back. He was like wow!!! Look at that thing moving in there!!!
I had a really great time for about half an hour!
So people!!! Don't you worry about the flaws on your watches, not only people aren't aware of them, they don't know your watches even exist!
