I have been looking into a Sinn for a while and see your guys have some complaints about the lume on this model.

I found this one from one of our trusted dealers recently and from the pics seems to have pretty good lume and a good Mvmt as well (2836) . What is the general opinion on this model?

U1 lume

I have just received a SDR U1 from puretime and as everyone says the lume is weak and its also got a green tint to it that the gen doesn't have. A sure tell. Doesn't bother me to much. I have the "swiss" 2836 movement. Its been fine although it doesnt seem to have a very long power reserve, maybe 10-12 hrs. Its a great rep and I'm glad I got it. I'm assuming they all come from the same factory so the one your looking at should be similar.

I bought one from another dealer before I found this site. Showed up basically DOA. Fit and finish looked great with a few issues. The watch was losing about 5 minutes/hour even after a full wind. I would look down to check the time, and it would randomly stop ticking. Additionally, there was a drop of red paint on the inside of the crystal, the same color as the paint used on the hands. Oh, and yes, the lume sucks.

I returned the watch for repair/replacement over a month ago. No response from the dealer other than "Have not received your package yet, will repair and expedite as soon as I do." verbatim every time I send an e-mail. Expensive lesson learned.

Bought the above Sinn one year ago from a fellow member. Reliable. I'm very happy with my U1.

Just got mine yesterday from Hont, I love it. A stunning watch that looks really good on the wrist, perfect size IMO.

My power reserve on full winding is over 36 hrs on my 2824 Asian, not a smooth sweep, not sure of the gen. I'm happy, but will definitely need a Lume job. I'm looking for someone with experience on this model.

My U1 on a gen bracelet.....

The bezel triangle bothers me more than the lume...

It's a very accurate rep.

I have one but my Swiss movement is giving me some problems. I think she's a keeper, sending it to Goin for a fix and a relume really soon.

Here it is on gen bracelet:

With a gen in mid 1K pricing the U1 makes oh hard to justify a modded rep, no?

Agree. Is it really feasible to buy a Swiss movement replica and then spent another Eur 250 on a genuine metal bracelet? Are you serious? Makes no sense to me at all.
