Is the Rep mesh that bad? I've read that any mesh except the Gen is no good. The one from Marvellous Replicass is only $75, is it worth it? Also I have 7" wrists, how will it fit?

Thanks for any info.

It is not worth $75. Not at all.

It's generally stiff, it can be unforgiving (it cut me once) and the regular clasps are bad.

You'd be further ahead getting a gen or one from ebay. I heard the shark mesh ones were pretty good.

That's what I have read. There are a few aftermarket ones Ill look into. The watch comes on a Rep OR rubber strap which I do not care for. Is the leather Rep strap equally as shitty as the mesh or is $40 a decent price from MR?

Thanks again.

I've had a rep leather and that was really bad too, felt really cheap fake leather and the clasp was crap.... I've actually ordered a 22mm rep mesh so I can report back to what it's like nowadays :)

If you need to order soon I would probably go for the rep rubber, but it's probably just the best of a bad bunch, a SNPR strap or something similar would be 100 times better....

avoid the rep croc go for a calf if your going down that path, there are some very good aftermarket versions of croc or calf etc, feel free to pm me what your after and ill provide a link, id swap a very good calf strap for a swap for the OR if you wanted?

Thanks for all your help. Id really like a nice mesh but not in the mood to spend $500+ for Gen. I looked at that eBay store...am I looking for a 22 or 24mm? And is the shark the best quality vs. some of the other aftermarket mesh he has?

Also, does it have to list breitling in description or is the mm size the only thing that matters? Sorry, I'm a total noob!

You haven't actually mentioned what watch you have :p

You can get the lug size very easily by googling your watch model + "lug size". The SuperOcean Heritage is 24mm, for example, and that's probably what you're looking for. And yes, typically any 24mm strap will fit all 24mm lugs unless they're proprietary (Hublot, AP, Ebel are examples of brands that use proprietary lug systems).

Cheers to SSTEEL for providing that link, I've been looking for a mesh myself as well!

Superocean Heritage chrono brown dial. It looks so sharp on a mesh bracelet IMO. Thanks for all the tips and for that link!
