I took some snaps of my new DSSD A2836-2 from the BP-Factory today - what a total nightmare to photograph! That crystal is like those convex security mirrors you see in some shops - it reflects everything! :frusty:

Anyway, some pics are better than others so please excuse the not-so-good ones.

I picked the watch up in a M2M sale on RWG but it originally came from Sead. It's nothing special in my opinion - lots of manufacturing and quality control issues. Looks good on the wrist though, even although it is probably the most uncomfortable watch to wear that I own - it's too top-heavy.

So, onto the pics! ;)

Excellent pics as always mate.
Strange though, I find my DSSD so much comfier than my SuperOcean 44 for some reason. Think the SO44 could be going on sale when Kenny returns ma DSSD from its Spa treatmemt. ;-)

Looks amazing. Congrats Any mods in mind for this monster?
Thanks! No mods planned - not sure it would be worth it due to the many flaws tbh.

Cheers mate!

Was reading your post saying sorry about the picture...scrolling down I thought I scrolled another candy-eye thread.... Very nice shots and the watch superb.

Dude,
Your "worst" pictures put most "best" shots to shame.

I have the same on a kevlar strap and I have to admit that although I thought the same as you at first this watch has grown on me after wearing it off and on for a week. Something about it I can't place. One thing that drives me nuts is the "clanky" bezel. I tried the dental floss fix which takes away the clank but takes away the ratchet clicks and allows the bezel to rotate in both directions. The mod was fully reversible though so it's back to the way it was.

Thanks guys, glad you liked the pics. :)

Flaws include poor SEL fit (lower one especially), loose bezel, poorly positioned date wheel (sits low in window), crown feels very rough when screwing it in, some small fibres under the crystal, no etched crown on the crystal, slightly wonky letters in rehaut engraving ("LOCK") and the crystal sits a fraction too high.

Would I recommend this "BP factory" version? Only in it's cheapest 21j form. It's nowhere near the quality of the recent H and N factory PAMs and Breitlings.

;)

maybe the dial needs to be turned slightly clockwise so the date will be alligned correctly?
some new springbars might also help improving the SEL fit...
the LEC is not a problem, even a plus as the gen can hardly be seen...

Yes, that might be correct but it just demonstrates the poor quality control IMO.

Great photos Del!
I have a question on the crystal. Does it look a bit cloudy or not as clear as some of the super reps out now? Maybe no AR?

Your pics look great but I do have agree that watch is way to much to wear as I perfer the classic SD, I looked at the gen a few days after my local dealer got them in and my first thought was WTF thats a crazy sized watch also the dealer expresssed a overwhelming demand for the classic SD becuase none of his customers thought this watch was worth buying.

Thanks. :)

No, the crystal isn't cloudy and there is no AR on Rolexes. It distorts quite easily at an angle though.
