I have been doing a lot of reading about the Rolex 1675 GMT, and after some guidance from some fellow members I decided on the Cartel 1675 and ordered one from Sead (Supermirrors).

This watch is going off to one of our modders to give it the vintage look and some modding, but I though I would post a few photos of the watch before the mods.

And a Lume shot

I went for the A2836 model, and it seems pretty good quality overall, it came with a rivet style bracelet which isn't the best quality so I plan to change this for a better quality oyster one, just need to source a decent one for a reasonable price.

looks good, I would however recommend a new dial. The coronet looks weird...too pointy.... And I just happen to have a gen dial for sale in the parts section! =)

This is the quentisential format for a great watch. I hope your mod list includes Clark's 3 piece bezel assembly and insert. However, this is very wearable as is with an insert swap. The possabilties are many but a great start on that every popular Cartel 1675.
Best of luck....

Hi Rob

Thanks for the details, do you have a link to this, not something I had thought of, but now you mentioned it, I think I may add this to the list.

If you ever decide to sell the bracelet let me know!

I also got one but it doesn't have a riveted bracelet.

Is this the same as the one Trevor offers? If so, I've got one on the way that's going to be modded into a 1675/3 root beer.

My Cartel model from Sead came with a folded bracelet rather than a riveted one too.

Its a great basis for a modding project, mine had never missed a beat and I've had to force myself to stop wearing it this week in an attempt to give my new 5512 some wrist time!

+1 on the Clark 3-piece bezel, I've used 3 of these so far and they really set the watch apart.

How are those bracelets? Every time I've gotten a bracelet on a "vintage" rolex rep the bracelet was thin and flimsey.

Had the gen Tudor folded bracelet, felt like it was made from a Pepsi can to me.

Vintage Rolex bracelets WERE flimsy and shitty feeling.

Big +1 on that! I was really surprised by how crap, light and thin my folded bracelet looked and felt when I got it, then I compared it with a gen and realised it was probably the closest part of the whole watch!

Now I've got used to it, I actually really like it as it doesn't get caught on anything like shirt cuffs, and doesn't thump against my desk!

Well that makes me feel better about the bracelet, as this one certainly feels flimsy and light.
