My taste in watches seems to alter pretty radically with each new edition. I've lately got the new IWC Ingenieur and I feel like I can't see myself wearing anything else ever again!
It might help if I list what's in the box...
1) IWC Ingenieur Laureus for Sport
2) Omega PO orange, soon to be a super-franken (dial, hands, bezel, sunny crystal, crown+tube)
3) Marlin modded 111 V3 with Y incabloc and long micrometric screw
4) Steinhart gen Ocean 1 Red
5) Ebel Discovery 911 Chrono
6) Vac modded IWC 3717, superlumed and blue AR like gen
7) Quartz Tissot
8) A7750 Navitimer
Recently sold:
Gen Tissot Visodate
HBB V6 SS/CER
Tag carrera Auto A7750
Noobmariner Sub
Pam 029m
Omega SMP 007
As you can see I have bought and flipped (and kept) quite a few watches. My watch box is full and really as a student it's a bit ridiculous. I can afford them, but it's still probably too much to be spending. It's also nagging me slightly that if I sold them all I could afford a gen.
Anyway, I'm thinking of selling the 3717. It was a grail watch for me and the hassle I went to to get it was immense. But lately I just don't seem to be wearing it. I don't know why. I think because when I get a new watch I seem to think they are the greatest and forget about the others. Then it wears off. But I find myself wearing basically the Ingenieur, the Omega PO and the Steinhart with very occasional 111.
I can't sell the Navi because it was a present, and it seems a shame to sell the Ebel for $150 or so since it was such a good special from Toro. The Tissot is worth nothing and wouldn't sell.
That leaves the 3717, which I could probably get a good price for. But I'm afraid I'll really regret it after the trouble I went to for it and how I was basically in love with it for so long.
So forum friends, sell the 3717 or keep it?
(sorry for the borderline rant, I think I needed to see it on paper!)
