Watch package got nabbed by customs

So a few of you guys already know this from the chatbox, but yesterday, after waiting 14 days worth of 'inbound into customs' I receved a letter from customs saying that my package isnt coming.

The interesting thing about this letter is that it does not say that I'm not allowed to bring fakes or counterfeits into the states, but instead, its saying that I'm not authorized to import breguet/breitling trademarks without proper forms and invoice.

What does this mean? It means they think my shit was gen.

The package came from one of our TD's, PT. It was a package containing 2 watches and a rep box.

I think the box is what gave it away. :frusty:

What was also stamped onto the letter from customs was that the package will be returned to sender if no documentation is received within 30 days. I think they want me to send in an invoice and some importation forms...

I'm sure that Angus will sort this out for me, as I've already sent him emails and copys of the letter, but has anyone else gotten this kind of letter from customs?

You're definitely not the first, although it's never happened to me.

I've seen plenty of threads of people getting their stuff nabbed, but its all because customs thinks its counterfeit. I've never seen someone with a letter like mine lol.. Unless you have? I mean, you've been here quite a few more years than me

I think you're right about that although I've heard a lot of times it gets sent back to the original shipper which must be for lack of proper documentation. Otherwise I would imagine it would be confiscated.

Yeah this is my plan... Although I'm still waiting to hear from Angus.

I'm' really hoping that I won't have to wait the 30 days, then ship back to china, then ship back to me... :frusty:

Okay, so I need your guy's opinions... would it be inappropriate to ask for a refund at this point? or would it be reasonable for me to request that they re-source the watches and reship before the package is released from customs?

Either way, i believe you still have to wait for them to receive back the package.

That's the usual way..but it's up to the dealer.

maybe you skip the box this time and let it come through in a smaller, less conspicuous package. The one thing you don't do is respond to those letters or contact customs. Losing packages is, unfortunately, a risk we all take. Reaching out to them and putting you and your address on their radar is silly since, after all, the package contains illegal contraband. I am glad Angus came through for you.

I completely agree with you, set. The only reason I ordered the box was because my friend wanted the breitling with the box... I would never get a box with it..

Should i request that it be shipped separately? Im sure that my friend could care less if it arrived way later..

Total bummer mate .... very sorry to hear - yeah, corresponding with customs isn't a great idea IMHO - I imagine getting anything resent to 'you' and to 'your' address (at least for the time being) may not be sensible as well ....

Oh no worries, there, I'm having it sent to another address under another name :lol: no problem on that front, I've got many aliases :lol1:
