Cali dial is always fantasy one for all PAM fans , but we all know , it's difficult to build a good PAM249 with all correct parts .
And talking about Cali dial , we have to check the original model of it , the 3646 cali .

The good thing is , our TD River offer us very very good 3646 cali now .
You can check here if you don't know :
http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/fs-vintage-panerai-106697

And a member order this from River and send it to me for modified , by the chance , I will show you what I done on it and you can do it if you can .

1. Original dial is like this :

You can see the fonts color is too new , and too green . Hands are blue plating , and hands are with white lume .
So my plan is aged the dial and hands , aged the case . We know the plan now , so here we go !

2. Disassemble the watch :
Nice CB engraved on the inside , and with ST36 movement .

Owner offer a Swiss movement to swap , will do that when all parts are modified .

3. Aged hands
Remove the hands from the watch , this is the effect of the blue plating and white lume on the hands .
2012-11-12180719.jpg

I remove the blue plating and lume first , and do well polished works . It's good to see that river hands are steel made , or it can't be mods at all .

After the polished works , I heat the hands to blue color to make them to real blue steel hands . The quality just jump out !

3. Aged dial :
I want to change the color to make the fonts be aged , but in fact , it's impossible to use aged color cover the green numbers . So I use pure white lume to cover the original color .

Then use vintage light yellow to relume , we have better looks now .

The lite grown numbers looks way better .
2012-11-12203837.jpg

Then some special make up , make the dial looks more vintage .

4. The case set :
The case is already with correct structure , and also correct shape . So I just do some aged effect on it without too much reshape or other works . I add some special broken effect around the side of the plexi .

And add some damage on mid case .

5. Assemble :
Install the relumed hands first .

Put the movement ring back .

Screw back the bezel & plexi .

Fit the mid case on .

Install the crown , and of course , Swiss 6497 inside .

Screw back the case back (lite aged too) .

And let's check the final result .

I love it! Ok, maybe I don't like the "special broken effect" on the plexi but everything else is pure art:)

Goin: Yes, in theory I can now do it by myself........ What tool do you use to build up the lume on the numbers? What do you do to allow such precision in the application. I've tried, and I can't get those sharp edges at the sides of the numbers. Brilliant, my friend. Yes, I can now do it by myself :biglaugh:

Just long time practice my friend , no secret .
I done , and destroy lots dial to get know how to relume it good , so there's no secret .
Practice makes perfect , is that right ?
