How necessary is the Pearl mod on the BK DSSD?

Should I send the watch to pbdad and get the lume and pearl mod at once? Or is the factory lume close to gen?

I want this watch to be my daily watch so I want it to be as best it can be... minimizing the tells from the gen.

I can't speak for the lume, but the shape, size, and overall look is totally off on the stock pearl. Compare BK's sales thread to pics of a pearl modded by Darth Alex. Not having owned one but continually shopping for one, I'd say it's worth getting it done.

"Best it can be" -- definitely need pearl mod then. But then, it needs other stuff too, like v7 hour markers, ring lock text paint mod, etc...

IMHO BK DSSD is the best around, you will need couple of complementary mods if you are anal about it been close to gen. In my case the clasp and insert (pearl and triangle) are terrible and I hope someone get it right so I can buy another one.

Where can i see the BK? i was thinking of getting a DSSD but i only see the noob version. Which one do you guys recommend?

Even bk dssds need a litle modding. BK does extra quality control, hev sealing and the date wheel change to a more gen like one. However the pearl mod still needs to be addressed and some like the dial more matte.

I had BK do my Pearl Mod while he was at it. The Dial Matte is cool but the gens dont have that nowadays so its not really needed.

The one thing I might still do is the Ring Lock Text mod. Anyone know who does that?

Is the luming this watch needed?

Check put my subc pics and youll see how badly you need a pearl mod and a new bezel insert if possible.

I can have my watch service guy take it apart for me and give me the ring to do the mod. Just wondering what exactly is the issue of how the BK one comes? Is the paint coating not thick enough?

Take a look at any of the Noob DSSD pictures and you'll see that is has a distinct engraved look, and the gen looks much smoother. My understanding is that the gen is engraved but either filled with paint or the engraving is shallower. Anyway, the paint mod will make it look spot on.
