IWC Mark XVII Mod for Bracelet

I just got the Mark XVII today and was wondering if I could use my 3717 bracelet. Unfortunately the lug holes are too close to the case to allow the 3717 bracelet to fit. I think it may fit if I could somehow drill two hole a bit farther from the case. Any ideas?
