Which reps to buy now?

Been thinking about some of the awesome reps that have been and gone (SOH V2, UPO, Swissfish etc.) and was just curious what people think are the best reps right now that will always be in huge demand and command strong money once they're no longer being produced?
I reckon I'd start off with the V6 BB family - better than the V7, sell in seconds on here (how many have I missed?!) and look the bomb plus super close to the gen. Just to make it clear I'm not talking about profiteering in the future or anything like that, just reps that, once they go off sale, make you think 'Damn, why didn't I buy that when it was around?"

I think, to a certain degree, when a well made rep goes out of production, there are going to be some demand, if not a lot.
Honestly, I wouldn't worry about what would go out of production and get whichever you like.

Good advice. You have to go with your own tastes. There are tons of people on here that love watches that I think look like crap. I'm not going to buy a crap watch just because of the demand.

Besides, hot watches right now aren't guaranteed to be hot 6 months from now. The PAM111N was smoking hot 6 months ago up to last month, now it's everywhere for an even lower price. It might end up being bargain basement by the end of the year. Same thing will probably happen to the AP Diver v3.

True. There's always going to be the new "hot thing". Only a select few will see an increase in price over time.

If your buying reps in the interest of them gaining value... I suggest you quit right now...

I think everyone ha misunderstood the question slightly, or perhaps I didn't phrase It correctly. As I said, I was referring to profiteering and hoping to make on a watch, or even buying reps simply because it's amazing but you don't like the watch. I meant more reps that are amazing and you do like but you don't jump on and later regret not buying when it was beig produced. I suppose what I'm actually saying is what reps have people bought recently that they knew they would be killing themselves if they missed out on ad what reps from the current line up are on people's wish lists and they simply have to have. I'm gutted that I missed the SOH V2 when it was available, for example. It maybe it's just not a very good question, lol.

The question is fine, the problem is you dont what rep will end up being "the best" untill its no longer made, most of them are not limited runs; most just keep changing in little ways.

IF your asking what watch do you regret not buying in the past because its not longer made NOW thats a different question.

IE some people would say the AP M Highway, but as Raj said its an individual thing. IE I can't stand that colour scheme on that AP, some poeple would sell a child for one :)

I missed the AP monotauk highway when it was available. I know all the large sized AP watches look like crap on me, but find myself being pulled into the hype into trying to acquire one. I've come really close a couple times to purchasing just because it was desirable. I'm glad I changed my mind at the last second every time that opportunity arose.

The point here is that it doesn't pay to buy into the hype. I'm just going to get what I like, and what looks good on me.

I think it's a good idea to pick up hot reps when they are available. It may be hit and miss with the odd few and better ones might come along eventually but sometimes you get a gem which becomes very hard to find later...if at all. Look at the slevin, or the wm9 v2 sub (until TC came along), the speedydate, the ebel panda or the sosf was a gem until the recent releases...and I'm sorry I didn't pick up 7 or 8 smp closed cases with perfect He and crownguards when they were available ;)
