A7750 Symtoms - what can you do..

I have IWC3714 A7750, great looking watch. Sadly I bought it before reading the forum, which details issues with A7750 with secs@6.

My watch stops working every 2-3 hours and if I nudge it starts working again. It is really annoying. What causes this and how do you get it fixed?

I took it to watchsmith, who opened it and said was good quality A7750 and oil some parts and said it should be OK, but it is not.

That modification of the A7750 with the seconds at 6 has always been problematic. The Rolex with the seconds at 6 is a perfect example. There has been other versions of it adding extra jewels however still unstable. I would check around the forum for other watch-smiths with experience repairing them.

I have read removing the mechanism for the sec@6 and freezing the dial restores reliability. Anyone had this done?

This is a much written about, much talked about, long ongoing thing.... hours and hours of blogs on this subject. From some super duper cleaning and lubing to the Domi mondo fix.....good luck deciding what to do.

just ask Domi, he can fix it with his 3 jewel modd.
All the Daytonas he fixed are running great.

The domi fix is very interesting. But there no pics or instructions as to exactly how the fix applies. Would be most grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction.

Guru, have you had this fix done to any of your watches - if so, what was the outcome?

I have now heard from Domi - the cost of the 3 jewel fix is 250 euros. The challenge is the work for the service and the 3 jewels, only the service cost 150€ and the modd fix 3 jewels 90€ + shipping. So it is not cheap, but I will be having it done as I like the watch so much. if it works, it will be great.

Domi - because of shipment issues, he is only servicing EU customers

I have this fix on 2 AP ROOs.
It is working fine on Daytonas and on IWC 3714

Domi received my rep yesterday. Really looking forward to see how this turns out. If it work, I can see buying more A7750's for sure....
