Here's my Snowflake as it is..just installed Clarks T19 into it..when i bought this, i was told that the midcase is a Phong 9411 case..

there is the '9411' inscription in between the lugs..can some of the other experts shed some light on this?

Based on the above pictures, I am not too sure if it's the crystal that is making the rehaut 'wokky'..

The movement in the Snowflake is currently an ETA 2789-1 and if I am to look for a donor case from the Cartel 5512/5513/1680 to put the guts in, which would be a much better choice in terms of stem height..

I believe the 5512/5513/1680 are using the similar midcase but with different dials and crystals..

Thank you in advance for whatever advice is provided.

:)

Little off topic JL, but something I have noticed....we know Tudor sub cases are made by Rolex, but are they the same? Sometimes I have noticed gen Tudor subs look a little more wokky than say a 5513. This seller on VRF has many Tudors he sells and is very well known. For example take a look at this sub and look at the rehaut.....seems more wokky than a Rolex....or is it me, or the picture? This watch looks just like my MBW's compared to my Joshes that are perfectly straight. I noticed awhile back. All his Tudors look this way.

Thanks mate for the link..will be having a look..

I think it could do with the crystal..i'm going to try a service t19 or a t39..your thoughts??

*edit*
I did a check on rwg and i'm using the exact same case as redwatch in his franken build..he used a gen t125 and it seemed that the characteristics of this crystal didnt over emphasize the rehaut..

Here's the link:

I did a pictorial on my gen its a 94110 dated from 1979

I do not know what crystal it has but its crystal clear i miss that on the redwatch pics its just not clear.
Do you guys see what I'm talking about?
Yours has it too (nice watch Sard) the lower part of rehaut touching dial... angles in, my MBW's are like this. My Josh are not, and I believe Rolex 5513 are not this way either..maybe I'm crazy? lol

I think it's the crystal that causing the distortion..

Any idea what case both Redwatch and I have??

I filed/sanded the rehaut slightly so it's not that angular but i dont want to sand anymore, else there will be nothing stopping the dial/movement from hitting the crystal..

If using the 5513, how do you work around the short stubby CGs?

Same case but using gen t-125 (taken from Redwatch)

I think the flat sides of the crystal helps in minimizing the look of the rehaut..

I think your watch looks awesome JL!
As for Josh's short cg's, they don't bother me at all. In real life(I have three of these watches) they are not as short as they look in pictures. Subs come with all sorts of cg's, pointed and square, long and short overpolished. They really are fine for me.

+1 on the crown guards. I have a cartel 5512 and don't even notice the crown guards. If you think about it, after years of wear and service polishing, it wouldn't be that unusual to see shorter crown guards. As far as the wokky rehaut, I don't believe the clarks crystal will distort this. I installed a Clarks on my 5512 and actually it has little to no distortion.
Nice watch by the way!

That's the thing mate..i am using a direct comparison with the same case but with different crystal, not with the cartel 5513..

Mine with Clark T19
Redwatch with Gen T125

Both have very obvious different profiles and in the pics it does shows..

That being said, will the 21J case of the cartel 5512 be able to fit my current ETA 2789-1 movement?

At least I can use it if I ever want to swap... :)
