Guys i just bought about 5 watches from a trusted dealer on RWI which i will not make known as of now. I actually bought this watches for a friend of mine after he saw my 112. One of it was a Pam 187. The trusted dealer told me to make payment to his bank account and i just did so. Not long later he emailed me telling me that the 187 is out of stock and that he doesnt know when the new batch will come. Thus with that my friend told me that he wanted a full refund. Reason being is that the main reason why he wanted to buy is because of the 187, and that this dealer gave a good price if he were to buy 5 watches at a go and thus he decided to buy more watches to get a better price, but since the 187 isnt available anymore he is asking for a refund.

The thing here is this trusted dealer tells me that he will do a refund of the 187 in the next purchase. Which i feel isnt fair because its like me being forced to buy more watches and only then can i get a refund back of the 187. I dont think i am asking for much with a refund, and besides he hasnt made order for the other watches yet.
Also, I am from singapore and i made a bank transfer to his Singapore bank account as well and there isnt any charges so even if he were to refund the money he wont be losing on charges. However his telling me that he has withdrawn his money from the singapore account to his china account.
Guys im just asking if its too much to ask for a refund? I bought from other dealers before and they refunded my money in full without any questions asked. Help please.

Would be interesting to know the dealer but I would say its not too much too ask he cant provide what you want and you shouldnt be forced to buy more.

To get this straight, dealer can deliver 4 out of 5 right?
Friend wants now refund of full amount of all 5 watches?
There is no option your friend wait until the 187 is in stock again?

the 187 is the main reason he is ordering, the other 4 watches he ordered was sorta " for the sake of ordering" probably giving to his wife or friends or whatever that im not sure. But yea he doesnt mind waiting, but the problem is TD just tells me he doesnt know when stocks will be in. So its hard for me to answer to my friend. What if its in afew mths time, i think he would rather just get it from another TD that charges higher but can send him immediately

Sounds reasonable to let dealer ship the 4, and to refund amount of the 187.
Just tell him that you do not accept his proposal on refunding in future buy.
And you want money back of the 187.

PM a mod to help you in this matter. I think its hard to get a full refund as only the 187 is out of stock.

Its stressful to help friends purchase reps as they are not used to the system.

Sigh. Yup. so much for being helpful, but its tough when friends look at your watch and tell u how nice it is and begging you to help them buy, how do u say No to that. :(. Sometimes i feel the TDs should do a final check on the availability on the stock of the watch before asking us to send money over to them and i believe it isnt too hard since its just a phone call away to the factory. I think this would prevent all this matters from happening. Its a waste of money for both TDs and Buyers having sometimes to send money tru western union or bank transfer and paying the charges. I think its only good to inform before hand on the availability than the buyer having to be "forced" into getting another watch that he may not like

I think I know which dealer you are talking about.
Anyway if that TD couldnt get any stock, I doubt the other TDs can, since they all grab from the same factory for a specific model.

So if your friend can wait, it will be the best. But if he cant, I think its fair for a refund at this initial stage, afterall he couldnt get u the full order. Seeking advice of a mod should help too.

Next time remember to email the dealer to ask for availability of stock before sending payment.

Hmm, i believe there are some who can get, i Bought a mm20 from a TD here before and he ended up refunding me because he cant get it. But i found another TD who told me he can get it. So yea, i believe some still can get it. Well TD is telling me he will refund me the 187, I dont wanna put him in a hard spot so i told my friend to just accept the other 4 watches. Problem now is, his telling me he cant transfer the money to my account because of China not approving 8digit swift code number instead of 11. Should i ask for western union instead/

Ask him to PP you instead? He will incur bank transfer fees anyway. PP is cheaper.

Then use another refund option you mentioned western union i don't know about those bank options.
The guy is willing to refund. Or if its impossible to get money back technical last option could be you pick another watch of same value in stock. And sell it here maybe you loose a few dollars but thats all in the game.

You don't have to be afraid to name the dealer, infact you should.

Forcing you buy another watch is NOT accetable.

If the dealer can transfer from his Singapore account to his China account then there should be no problem sending it from his China account back to his Singapore account and then refunding you.

Demand full refund and next time your friend wants a watch tell him to sign on here and do his own deals, that way you don't feel responsable for the deal.

As Sub said, name the dealer. Hindsight is a great thing but next time email for him to check stock levels.

Good luck, Phil
