I know most would frown upon changing something away from its Gen counterpart, but I just like the look of an aqua/blue lume. All my other watches have green lume and I just wanted a watch with aqua/blue, so the only watch that hasnt been relumed was the Seawolf. Worked out well, IMO, I really like it.

I like the blue lume, it looks great! The only people that know it's not accurate to gen are at the AD and this forum. Congrats and wear it in good health!

WOW! Very nice job! Any close-ups of the dial?

Ill post some up in a few mintues. Up close, it definitely shows its flaws. Lucky for me, I have yet to find someone on the street wanting to see the lume on my watch with a loupe in-hand.

Looking at it at home under magnification, I am somewhat ashamed of the job I did, but then I have to realize that Ive been doing this for a couple days, and the pro's have been doing it for years.

Looks good to me, and it fits my credo: if you like it, then that's all that matters. Accuracy to the gen be damned!

OK, here they are. I know macro shots will bring out the flaws in anything... but these shots make we wanna go pick off some lume and redo it.

It will always be a work in progress, but I am having a blast learning.

Looks great! And a job well done too! Maybe people don't realise that those hour markers are not removable so you had to remove the old lume and then apply the new lume in situ - not easy to do neatly and without scratching the paint on the hour markers. Well done!

I could do that... BUT what would be even better, is if you sold the U1 to me, then I could relume and wear it ;)

Hehe you are too funny strodda but the u1 is here to stay :) but if you are willing to relume it and practice pm me we can discuss it further only if you are conus though:D:

That is true. Thanks for that, and boosting my spirits a bit too. I was expecting a little easier job, but when the dial came off, I realized that the markers do not.

I assume one of the masters did the relume in your sig?

Yes, Fine DD did mine. I wouldn't know where to start!
