Hi all,

I built this watch over the last year. I first bought a gen bracelet, then a gen dial. I bought a gen breitling 7750 movement.

I found a jeweler in NY who puts diamonds on watches and had him put like 15 carats worth of sapphires on them. For the bezel I used an aftermarket so that I could put really big stones on them. Only because of the size the bezel is fixed and does not turn.

I've looked for a gen case but there seems to be none after months of searching so this watch's journey has come to an end. Just did a $500 servicing.

Anyways, people love this watch. The photos were taken by the jeweler so they look like stock photos (he just has a nice camera studio for his jewelry. Also these photos were taken before the real dial were in place and before the real datewheel and movement were there.) The last photo is how it looks now. Let me know what you think.

You can NOT sell that outside the sales forum. Even then you are not a VIP and could not list it.

Because it has a rep case, so it's not authentic. Which means no box no papers. I can't even list this on ebay with an "aftermarket case" ebay won't allow that.

It's not worth 20K, because it is sapphires and not diamonds.

I of course would sell on the right forum VIP or whatever, but I wanted to show it off and get feedback. Is this reaction because you think that it is a scam? I'll give you the Breitling certified watchmaker's address and phone number who put this together. I don't understand what the reaction is.

The reaction is because most probably think this is a joke (I know I do). This is a "watch forum" Lets take a look at that first word... watch. This is why we are all here because of our love for watches. Most people on the forum find beauty in a well crafted timepiece (hence why they want it to be "gen like"). To be frank: There are very few people on this forum that believe gluing some pieces of glass on a watch will make it look better. Its even safe to say most people would call this destroying a perfectly fine timepiece. Its not for me to say your personal opinion should be this or that because everyone is entitled to their own. I'm just trying to educated you on why people here might dislike this and why that is.

Bottom line if this is your thing and its what you like then wear it proud. If you just posted it to show off because you saw a rap video with something like this... then this might not be the place for you.

On a side note; I am confused why you would post a link to a ebay listing with a real Breitling with real diamonds and use that as an example of "people would pay 20 grand for this watch"... do you not see the difference between that and yours? Also by the looks of it no one has paid 20 grand for the real deal either :/ Maybe that says something all in its own.

I did not see the original thread. But if you tried selling in this section as COLDI said, that is a big no-no. Hence the dog pile.

Plus the only 4 posts part is kind if wierd.

I missed your last point. If people thought the style of the watch was funny, I showed a link that people were paying $20K for a real diamond version. It wasn't that I dreamed up this weirdo style. I was just defending the style with the link, not making any monetary comparison to what my watch is worth.

Why would you put that many diamonds on a rep ? I had an SA that had more gen parts than yours, but I would not do that to it. I know a guy with that same watch, and just as many diamonds. The most he has been offered for it is $8000. Customizing a watch that way decreases the market of buyers.
