7750 Keyless - Oops I did it again

So....I took my A7750 gmt out of my Pam 237 today to do some stuff, and I made the mistake of taking it out in the hacking/time setting position. Putting the stem in has proven to be difficult, and I'm at a point now where I can get it in, but all it will do is set the date. Along the way I had it in where it would wind, but I couldn't pull it out to the date or time set positions.

Have I for sure messed up the keyless, or is there a possibility that I just haven't gotten the stem seated correctly? How do I know? Every thread I've found seems to link to the swisslab flash tutorial on disassembly of the movement, but I just need to know to get to the keyless and how to reset if it, if it's even necessary.

The stem release button is not stuck, and seems to be working fine if that's of any significance.

I don't have a lot of fancy tools, but I have some tiny screwdrivers, a clean workspace, the internet, and a lot of time. I figure if it's not completely outside the realm of my competence, and the alternative is sending it in for repair, that I might as well give it a shot if the biggest risk is having to send it in to a pro if I fail.

I can see a tiny wheel (part of the keyless, i think) underneath what I think is one of the gears in the winding mechanism, and it is not fixed in position. It seems loose, and it moves when I try to insert the stem. Don't know if this is normal or not, but thought I'd mention it.

If I am completely screwed and I need to send it to a pro, how much are we looking at for this fix?

it sounds to me it is just up one position when u put it back in ,, if i were u try putting it back in like u did the first time and pull it out as far as it can go and this should put u in the changing the minute/hour hand position ,, then remove it and reinstall just till it clicks once and locks in , then push it in and see if that put it back right, if not i would say send it to a watchsmith and let them look at it ,, price depends on what is involved, but it could be something very simple ;)

good luck

So....another question: Is it possible to screw your keyless up so bad that the entire movement will need to be replaced? I really need to learn my place, and that place isn't inside a watch case.

The keyless can always be fixed although working on a chrono with those small hands is seriously difficult unless you have a good eye and steady hands.

I learned early on just to have a pro take apart my 7750 movements. I'll stick to the easier ones.

Sounds like the yoke has come out of position on the sliding pinion. Similar to this picture of a 28xx series, but same type of problem, probably.

no it doesnt mean it is destroyed, but im with kbh i would let someone qualified look at it for u ,, kbh the pic u show would be actually a bit different than the 7750 u cant get to it exactly that way ,, i wish it were that simple ;) but it does give him a idea that something similar is the culprit out of alignment ;)
