One of the things I loved about Iraq was the insane variety of weaponry that you could lay your hands on.

I carried everything from a Beretta PM-12S subgun to a Sterling manufactured AR-18 to a PKM and everything in-between. If you are a "gun guy" Iraq was absolute heaven! Most of the stuff we came across was either in cosmoline or almost new.

Here's some pics of the cooler stuff:

"Contractor" MP5- this one was made in response to the dudes who put so much crap on their M4 carbines that they wound up being heavier than a BAR

That warehouse brought tears to my eyes.

They had EVERY variant you could think of... rifles, paras, carbines, heavy bbls and even a weird solenoid fired .22 version used as a sub caliber trainer for a Brit armored car.

Just wish I could have brought some of those home.

Especially Thumper.

Nothing I hate more than a hoopty with 180 db of bass rattling everything around it. A 40mm HEDP would solve the issue pretty damn ricky-tick.

Don't exactly see a lot of Stirlings around any more. What other "vintage" stuff did you come across? yeah, the warehouse is indeed a sad sight, lovely piece of kit the FAL.
Dumbest thing the AU DoD ever did was trade in the L1A1/L1A2s on bloody Styers.

There were a bunch of Martini-Henrys (long and short lever), M37 machineguns, 4 water cooled Maxims, Vietnam era M16A1s, an XM-177E2 (original and so marked), a few STENs, an MP40, one Estonian guy found a StG44 (no ammo ) and a pack of MG42s in the original 8mm.

I'm a big fan of the FAL/SLR- once I got my grubbies on one it was about all I carried. I'd occasionally pack an AK but that FAL... fist of the gods!

That Krink definitely looks cool, and was cool, but the muzzle blast will make your ears bleed. The device on the end is actually a booster to ensure reliability- it'd lift a dust cloud off the ground while shooting offhand.

The only thing worse was the G3K. One guy fired it from inside a Nissan Urvan and blew out every window other than the windshield. Then again- if ya missed the guy the muzzle flash would set him on fire

Haha, the Belgians used to flog a lot of weapons!
The SLR is a very good rifle to this day. :)
Some great pictures, thanks.
