(mods feel free to move this thread, I posted it here as there's no "accessories section", but it didn't really seem to fit in off-topic either.)

Anyone know of a good source for leather LV Keepalls? This is the one I'm looking for in particular:

I'm new to buying bags, but from what I've gathered the same principles from rep watches don't really translate 100% (in terms of limited factories marketing distinct product versions, among other things). My go-to watch guy can get them, and I'm inclined to go through him as having an established relationship with him I feel like he would be less likely to misrepresent the quality of the bags. I've talked to a few dealers, and of course they can all get "top quality" versions of this bag, though prices vary quite a bit. ($150-250). I read a thread where somebody bought an epi leather keepall from KB over on RWG, which turned out to be a crappy bag and a bit of a shitshow.

I know a lot of the rep leather bags are inferior/plastic leather, smell of chemicals, poor stitching, etc, so I'm trying to avoid dropping $200-$250 on crap. I think it's less of a concern with the canvas LV bags, of which I have one on order from Jameslee (unfortunately James just has the canvas stuff, no leather Keepalls).

Any ideas? Thoughts? Should I just travel with all my belongings in a garbage bag?

I know Puretime have a link to bags dealers on their site. No idea what there though N.B. Though Puretime is a trusted Watch dealer... no guarantee for the bags as far as I'm aware....site may be nothing to do with them.

Edit....site appears to be down. Sorry!

Yeah, I just feel really uncertain buying a bag, since it's not like I can order the "noob factory v2 LV epi leather keepall." It's just" good quality" or not, and of course everything is "good quality."

Yeah, I asked him a couple of days ago and Jameslee said they don't. Not in a Keepall, anyway.

Just be careful with Jameslee.
I have a $500+ order that is 'missing' and am not getting any sensible responses from James.

In fact, I have not received a response from him in over 5 days and am getting pissed.

Ehhh....that is not reassuring. Hopefully nothing goes awry with my order. I heard another person had a similar experience, but it sounded like everything got sorted out. Hope yours does too.

Trevor has a big selection and sells decent LV bags. I've bought a few and been pleased with the quality for the price. Not as good as gen, of course, but easily 80% as good for 10% of the price.

Were any of the ones you bought through him leather? The monogram/damier canvas ones I'm less skeptical of since the gen is actually vinyl, but with the actual leather bags I'm a little more hesitant.
