Dial aging experiment!

I tried another approach of aging the dial by mixing everything together!

I tried the coffee method: no luck, I then tried baking- no luck.

I then had some crazy thoughts, I knew about applying a think lacquer over the dial for matt look, So though I would take it one step further!

So mixed up some think nitro lacquer with some strong coffee!

I gave the dial a think dusting from a distance.

I was pretty happy with the look by now, but as was just experiment around I though I would try one more step and bake it a little.

Ok, I over baked it....But Im pretty happy with the result. I think on the next dial I will do the same process but maybe bake for half the time!!!

yeah. you definitely overbaked... :lol: It looks like it was trapped in a sunken ship for 100 years.

if u want ur dial to age really good! leave it in the watch box with a female dial !
