Hey guys,

I've wanted to pull the trigger on this watch for so long now, but I can't get over that flaw..

I know the non-PR version is the way to go, but does anyone know if the factories are going to produce a newer version of the 5004 with this issue fixed?

I know it seems like a big obvious flaw but when I was looking at it at the AD it was pretty hard to tell. The pr subdial is tiny so a mm is really hard to notice when in real life.

My father has the gen, I spent a week, trying to "spy" the "days" on it from casual lengths, I noticed two things.

1. I can't see it from normal lengths.

2. when fully "charged" (wound), the needle goes just as high where you move the rep needle....

that's when I pulled the trigger on one, It's at vac getting an AR and lume treatment.

Nice! So you bought the Non-PR version? Just curious.. how much does vac charge for an AR and lume treatment on one of these.. ?

You should ask him, if I had to do it over again, I'd by the 5004 direct from him. I think he has one for sale, if I saw correctly on RP.

Not sure if I could justify the extra premium for a rep. I think the one that is standard for $200 or so is a fairly accurate rep once pr needle moved. AR I've been told is good. An extra $300 seems rather steep for me.

I think I remember hearing it was around there. I'm sure the lume must be outstanding but it's hard to justify that type of cash when you can get an ootb pam rep for $250 which is near perfect wrt to lume, ar etc.

Well thats two things... Vac actually paints the markers removing lume and reluming the proper markers.....

He said to me that the stock ar "is good but mines better" i spent more on less so i said sure.....

As for comparing it to a pam, i think thats not a fair comparison. The big pilot has a look, and a feel that is different from a pam.... While it's nice many pam's are that close (i have 2) this is bp is the best we have available and reluming and daisi fix to me are the big things To make it look more gen (that crooked "3" marker i just pretend doesnt exist lol) the ar is just a little icing on the cake...

I will say looking at my fathers bp, the ar difference is almost like te rep has a "dirty" or "smudged" crystal. Not bad but it doesnt to me anyway look like you are wearing a "clean" watch. No one would notice, but the wearer. It is very close.

Also the datewheel height to me is almost unnoticable holding both in your nad until you really tilt the things...

I am in love with the 5004 since it came out. Can you guys tell me where to buy the "out of the box" model and where to mod it? Thanks!

Maybe just EMAIL, not pm, vac. I would advise just trying to buy the older model from any of the td's though. Pretty decent out of the box. The newer ones are super lumed but the dots at the top are far too small.
