I keep reading there is a new CHS movement.

This si a wholly grail for me, but its like the Higgs Bosen particle, I just see rumours of it, and nothing about which watch it is in or where I can get hold of it

PureTime indeed has a "newer" CHS movement for GMT watches but no news on how reliable this is & also whether is it really NEW or just a sales gimmick..

That's good information....thanks for sharing. :)

Does Angus offer it as a "stand alone" on his site or is buying the whole watch the only way to get one.
(I know....I could go look but I'm hoping you already have :)

The new CHS Asian clone is supposed to be more reliable. Sneed12 used one on a build not long ago I think. Maybe he can comment on how it's doing.

Is that kind of like how the sa3135 was supposed to be the best thing since sliced bread?

I've contacted Angus regarding the CHS 2836-2.
You're right....he has them but they're only available already installed in a watch case designed to fit them. The CHS mvt. is thicker due to the extra bridge and gear-works.
How much thicker I don't know....and I didn't hear back as to whether or not these were improved over the CHS's of the past.
A reliable CHS GMT mvt would be nice but as it's been said time and time again, the ICHS really isn't noticed without a close inspection...and I personally have never had any issues with the performance of the ICHS...but we can still dream and keep hoping. :)
