In fact, I never intended to join. I got forced into it because D4M quit answering my emails (one free answer per customer, it seemed).

Then like a pool of quicksand, it sucked me in.

I got sucked in purely and simply by the fond welcome I got from the fine members of our forum.

I've never forgotten that and do my utmost to welcome new members in return.

Subtle, G8B, very subtle....

I was sucked in to this forum by the very watch that I am now selling. But when I got here, I had NO idea the amount of different brands and choices I had. I was going to ask a few questions, get the watch I wanted, and roll out.

COLDI is actually the one who kept me here. Him and I got to talking and I realized the caliper of good people here. How could I leave now?

I have been a lurker and it was not until recently as boost, sf, and sub can subtly agree that I have been more active. I do not have the prowess of all the inner workings of watches but if it's something simple I'll contribute as best I can. This has been the most humble horological forum I've signed on to. On the others you feel self-conscious about posting because of judgemental seniority driven members.

It's interesting that you say that rev. but I know what you mean. I always say that we are all just a bunch of noobs, only on different subjects :lol:

The colorful mix of people is what attracted me to this forum, that and the fact that's it's moderated lightly and politely.

At the beginning it was fun for me just to sit back and watch TTK, Pugs, Klink, and Enzo go at each other. There was a lot of headstrong characters then but it made viewing very worth while.

Hmmmmmmmmm........with all this talk of a "smiley for Steelfish" I think I should start a thread about it........now what title shall I give this thread.

Looks like there's a few of us here in the same boat (we'll be fine as long as the "Little Green Rapscallion" doesn't get his hands on it).

I still have have no idea about the mechanical working of a watch though........I know that the thin long hand tells the seconds, the thicker long hand tells the minutes and the short fat hand the hours........apart from that........I know what I like the look of and what I don't.

Oh!!........I have taken links out of a strap........man, did I think I was the bees knees after that outstanding feat!!!

Since this month I am three years into this place, I looked up my "Hi-I-am-the-new-guy" post. Who was the first person the welcome me to the forum, you ask?

AHW676. I remember that I was confused by her avatar because I assumed she was a he. :lol:

Then hk45ca, Hambone, COLDI, Exploder, alvinado, greg_r and iabounty from next door (of all people!), h_u, fakey, caterpillar (banned, like Hambone), bulldog4444 and morgi27 all welcomed me. That was all I need to see to know I wanted to stick around.

My little boat does seem to be staying in one piece for a change.

I think that the purchase of lovable little Ralph

was a very wise one one on my part........nothing puts the fear of God into an LGR more then a Velociraptor that's a little peckish.

Bugger bugger bugger!!........I knew I'd forgotten something........return postage!!

However I didn't forget his delicate little tummy so I did include a couple of packs of quick-eze in his overnight bag.
