The Theory of Origin, Rationale and Reasoning of DoS Attacks on Boards

The psychology of the most populous nation on earth is based on power and domination. Their whole psyche is engrained with concepts of control and domination. Their society would spin out of control if not for total control from the top. That is their belief.

In a society that controls everything from birth control to daily thinking; it is inconceivable to imagine that any industry could survive without government sanctions. An industry that provides enormous transfer of wealth from rich nations to the industry home nation can only be looked upon favorably. The only time that this industry might find disfavor is when products of this industry draw an unequal amount of pressure, both political and economic, from the rich nations. The point at which this pressure exceeds the gain from this industry is the point of government action against the industry.

If the overarching philosophy of the ruling government is control and domination, then every action the government takes is in concert with the success of this plan of domination. Nothing is happenstance. Everything is part of a developing plan marching toward success. Time is irrelevant, because the plan is in control. The plan is not set in stone, just the results of the plan.

This politically necessary action against this industry also provides a unique opportunity for the largest nation to improve its product quality from this industry. Government action is most effective on legs of the supply chain that have inferior product quality, as product quality is what drives demand. Demand drives profitability and market penetration. At some point, quality becomes so high as to drive original producers out the world market and profitability will sky rocket to levels never experienced by this nation’s industry. This industry achieves success in its market worldwide.

Another benefit of targeted attacks is that it drives every producer further underground. In a nation that has an “illegal” industry, it is imperative that this industry remain out of the eyes of world industry watchdogs and competitive government officials so that the core of the industry can remain safe and prosperous. It is part of the plan.

This year marks the ninety first year of the current government of China. Theories of control and domination did not start with this government. What did start in the 1960s was reform toward a market economy since it was apparent that stick adherence to communist philosophies were failing in all parts of the world. A hybridization of communism was about to take place in China.

“The Communist Party's ideology was redefined under Deng Xiaoping to incorporate principles of market economics , and the Socialist market economy enabled rapid and sustained economic growth.” (from WIKIPEDIA) China had found its way to have its cake and dominate at the same time!

What the hell does this have to do with DoS attacks on the industry supporting hobbyist boards? It is part of the plan.

Strategists within the government structure are guided by the principles of fear in the control of their population. They are also acutely aware that fear is a human trait, and not just limited to their sphere of control. Induced fear within markets can create demand, and demand is crucial to their “illegal” industry success.

Board postings are full of fear statements about their favorite hobby suppliers’ fate and what can happen next. Probably thirty per cent of the postings recognize that all this government action could drive prices higher. It is part of the plan.

In what other ways could a government strategist exercise power and control on the market? Well, the Chinese are known to have a very accomplished group of cyber hackers, or terrorists, within their control. A targeted DoS (Denial of Service) attack, or more probably a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) drives fear into the users and operators. Fear is good.

The overall plan is to drive fear into market demand and to control the industry by any means that achieves beneficial results. It is working. Just listen to the chatter on the boards. All the talk of increasing pricing and higher valuations of Chinese replica products just supports their major goals. The combined actions of replica industry raids eliminates the weak, lower quality suppliers (or any that have not bent to government demands) while elevating quality product suppliers AND, at the same time it drives market demand for fear of losing replica sources. Add additional fear through cyber attack on the very boards that the hobbyist utilizes and demand is driven up to a higher level. It is working. It is part of the plan.

Now go back and read all the postings and sense the fear. That is, if you can find your crashed board working at this time. DoS attacks have been established as effective tools of control and fear. It is part of the plan.

Interesting piece but where from BB? It means little without a source attached.
BTW, turns out RWG wasn't a DDoS attack. It was an attack but more of a hack.
Doesn't mean it doesn't fit this theory however.

there are many different motives when it comes to DoS attacks, or hacking in general. Some like the power, some try to get a point across, some do it to save themselves or others and then theres the general "just want to do harm"

Not that it matters any, but my guess would be that one of the kids who got Banned found a friend who could attack the site. That would be a large pool of suspects certainly and the motivation is crystal clear - teenage revenge.

I hope it gets worked out soon.

I did not know that Dale wore a REP! Now I remember, he has a REP Casio! Damn I love the King of the Hill.

Sorry, I should have injected the requisite boobie shots. Next time I promise!

interesting read, Big. However, as a lot of members know, I occasionally suffer from "brain farts" because of some surgery a little while ago so I need your help: "Dos?" Please clarify for my edification. Thanks.

Thanks Dave and as mentioned in the piece

"Well, the Chinese are known to have a very accomplished group of cyber hackers, or terrorists, within their control. A targeted DoS (Denial of Service) attack, or more probably a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) drives fear into the users and operators. Fear is good. "

Our fearless Cat Herder stated that it was more of a hack attack than a DDoS, which in effect, achieves the same with less effort if there is a point of entry.
