What are you all's thoughts? I have everyone telling me I should have this thing fixed AND also buy a new one which I am planning to do.

It's a Swiss move submariner rep two tone blue on blue...

Below is a copy of the email. Do you think this is possible and if so how much?

Yes, I'm a noob here. Thanks forth help

Hello. I understand you come highly recommended from guys on RWI. I have a rep sub I paid a lot for 3 years ago. It's wrapped and have been told very good movement. It is in desperate need of some bigntime tlc. Its stem and crown has come out. (lost them) when I did have the stem in it was tough to "catch the gears" when winding towards the end prior to falling out. It also needs a new rep crystal. The crystal that came with the watch fell out and I had a watch guy put just a simple non rep one in which doesn't have the rolex symbol at the 6 o'clock point ( which I want back). It also possibly needs new hands as I bent one when the crystal first came out but looks somewhat ok (want new ones if possible). Would also like to resumed and polished (if you can polish) .......simply put.....an overhaul lol.

Up to the challenge? What kind of $ am I looking at and how long? If possible, how do I pay you? I'm in the USA.

Thanks, katt. My name is kyle

Katt doesn't lume (assume that's what you meant by "resumed"), but others here can help you out. He knows his stuff really well, and is great to deal with.

Yes, thats what I meant. Spelling was wrong. I thought I read that he did relume? Either way I'm ok even if he doesn't do that. That's the least of my worries. What are your thoughts on everything else?

Pardon me for "chiming in"...My experience with Katt has been consistently excellent. I highly recommend him as a repair person. I know he doesn't do "modifications" to reps like luming and crown guard trimming.

One recommendation:
Don't go for wanting the Rolex crown on the crystal back...
If you can spot it with the naked eye it's a sure sign for a rep!

You also might have to find the parts you need and send them to Katt (Gary) he might not have the crystal and crown you need. I'm sure he'll have the stem for the movement though. He might be able to source the parts you need?

Duke,

Interesting you said that. He sent me the very same message today asking me to "source" them and then contact him.

Does this mean I need to find the part, buy them, and send them to him?

He wasnt too specific which I understand if he does good work, he would be busy.

Could you point me in the proper direction so I could get these parts and get this thing fixed asap?

First, there is no ASAP.

Take your time. You will need to contact a dealer to get the crown if none her have an extra. Start a Wanted thread.

What he said. If you take your time, you'll get it right the first time. Don't go all impusive; you'll just end up buying again and spending double the cash.

As the other members have already said, take your time and find the correct parts you need. You might want to get a genuine Rolex crown and tube (about $125/140) and have Gary install those. Also, if you not too picky about how accurate your watch is to gen you can get a Clark's insert and slap it on there.

Ebay is a good place to find the parts you need, If your not sure about the parts just post a link to the item here and we (the members) will tell you if they are good or bad.

Your watch sounds too far gone man IMHO. It sounds like it needs way to much stuff.
If i where on your shoes, i'd buy a newer model of the same watch you already own (as close in specs as possible) and i'd keep the old one for spare parts.
Post a picture of your older watch when you can.

Anyway yo decide to go, good luck.
