Sutton, Surrey..any geeks around??

Hi all,

I will be visiting Sutton, Surrey next Tuesday and will be in the UK for about 8 days..

Any suggestions on what i could do after office hours and on the weekend?

Closest station to me would be the Sutton station..

Also any idea how long it would take to commute from Heathrow Airport to Sutton via taxi?

Google maps says 40 minutes. But chances are it would be closer to an hour upwards depending on time of day / traffic etc.

Yeah, I'd allow an hour if you need to be there anywhere around run hour (which means 7-10am )
Sutton was where I was born, but we moved before I was old old enough to scope out evening entertainment

*rush hour.

Incidentally, I hear that locals now refer to it as "Slutton", so that might give you some inspiration...

I don't know who pays your taxi, but if you can get your office to organise a minicab to collect you in the airport you will save a bucket of money.

Licensed cabs in Heathrow are seriously expensive.

As to entertainment I would head for central London. By train you will be in London in less than 45 minutes.

The office has gracefully arranged a cab for me from Heathrow to the hotel in Sutton..

So it'll take about an hour or so via cab??

One more quick qns: i plan to bring along my reps so i can rotate them..maybe around 4-6 watches..is this advisable or a big no-no with airport immigration?

Is Sutton also relatively safe to walk in the evenings or are the local hoodlums out and about?
