I have roughly sketched a prototype of a datewheel fix for this model.

Based similarly on the IWC Aquatimer's font. Just want to have confirmation if it's actually thinner than the Aquatimer version.

Feedbacks are welcomed.

Taka welcome back,
I would be very interested in a "black on white background" dw for the Mark XVI Spitfire (grey dial).

Do you think it's doable?

By the way, do you still provide AR coating?
If yes, I'll pm you soon. :)

T,
I have this on a white wheel. Let me see if I can make time to take a picture.

Hey P,
I am showing the black DW as a IW B00140, for a cal 30110 and is used in about 8 pages of watches, including:
  • 3253 Mark XV
  • 3255 Mark XVI
  • 3256 Porsche Design
  • 3505, -06, -08 Engineer
  • 3511, -13, -14, -15, -33 Portofino Automatic
  • 3216, -20 Porsche Design
  • 3517, -18 Engineer
  • 3524, -28, Da Vinci
  • 3536 GST Aquatimer
  • 3538, -48 Aquatimer Automatic
  • 3551 Porsche Design
  • 4515 Ingenieur Automatic

There may have been changes ... my info is a little dated. But this DW was used in the watches.

Good luck,
Mike

Man this thread just reminds me just how badly I need DW's to finish my Ingy projects. It would be great news if someone was able to make these.

Is this something we can pay for someone to do?
I'm planning on buying this model but would like to have correct datewheel (I think that's the only obvious tell from this rep? correct me if i'm wrong)

A replacement datewheel, white print on black, would be great. It's one of the major problems with this rep.

A picture comparing the ge/rep is on:
http://www.rwg.cc/topic/144932-mk-xvi-modding-info/
and you could perhaps ask for a complete picture?

Main points seem to be :
the font is different to that on the standard ETA or the various rep versions - the 4 for example is pointed not flat on top and the 3 is more closed and the 7, 6 etc more curved.
Also the printing is thicker, making the numbers more solid. Apparently one must be careful to make the whole DW not too thick so it wont fit under the dial! (So I read somewhere else).

Great project!

+1. Need a DW for my newly acquired ingy. Might end up putting back out for sale if I can't find one. Someone help me not to do that!!
