Ordered a watch that was shipped out of Thailand on 2/6.

Nothing yet in my mailbox and the Thai post tracking only shows the package leaving the country on 2/7, nothing since.

Should I still hold out hope for its arrival or was this one not meant to be?

It will still probably show up. Sometimes things get delayed.

That's my hope. Month 1 down.

Does anyone know if packages from Thailand go through the west coast? (I am in the east.)

It will still show up. Tracking services aren't that great overseas. Things are pretty backed up in customs. But if you do feel like you need to take action contact the mods and they will help you get the best customer service available.

As Boostin20 said, what method did you use, registered?

The shipping method has a LOT to do with how long it takes to arrive. EMS/Express is generally a week or 2 whereas the registered option can take up to a month and a half or longer to arrive!

The shipping was through Thailand Post, tracking begins with RR ends in TH. I'm not really sure about the exact method. On tracking this is the last entry.

The dealer is a TD and he has been great to work with through the start. On the shipped watch I shot him two emails, each 2 weeks apart; one asking for the usual ETA and the other to let him know that it hasn't come in yet. He gave me some good advice, "shipping varies and to just hang in there". I have no concern that it won't be made right in the end. Heck it's only a watch.

I was just wondering at what point should I stop dreaming of the rep on my wrist  and come to terms.

I'm not totally sure but I think the "RR" refers to Registered, that would explain the length of time it's taken so far. Also, US Customs have been really slow lately. Usually my watches only spend a day two in customs but the last 2 I've bought were there 7 and 6 days respectively. So that could explain some of the delay also.

Narikaa ships from there and where do you think Robert shipped from?

RR is indeed registered mail. With registered that is the last tracking you will see until it lands on your doorstep, registered is not trackable (tho sometimes it will).

It's getting a bit long now but it's not lost yet. Another week or two and I'd be getting worried.

Thanks for the encouragement!

And just to be clear, since the dealer's name was mentioned; Reg (Narikaa) has been awesome to deal with. I would not hesitate to order from him again.

This is a customs problem and I want it in no way to be taken negatively towards him.

I sold a watch to a person in Germany, and it was detained by customs, and the buyer forgot to pick it up because he missed the customs letter, so it was sent back to me in the 3rd week of January. I only just received it back yesterday, and had long given up hope of ever seeing the watch again. So, that took about 6 weeks.

OK, so guess what came in the mail today?

My 42mm Pumpkin Planet Ocean! :biglaugh:

So gentlemen, when you have visions of a customs agent caressing your watch, just post a thread. The watch will show up the following day.

BTW, thanks Reg! This is a quality piece at a bargain price! :notworthy:

Nice!

I understand how stressful it can be.

I found the best thing to do is to order and forget about it. Start looking for your next purchase always helps.

For a gen watch his fault, for a rep he did correct as when at customs he has to open, they check and if rep they detain it for deletion.
