And what better place than here to get some great advice? So my wife and her sister want to give their father a new watch and I would appreciate your input. He is 50+ and the kind of guy that rather would be shot than to wear a pink shirt. He is a security guard and wears a suite one a year. So I'm looking for a masculine model, but not too fancy. Looking to spend maybe $200-$300. Gen, homage or rep doesn't matter. I´m leaning towards the B&R but I'm not sure, any tips on homages with a good movement?

Seiko Black Monster. All stainless, automatic and tough as nails.

Less than $200 new.

Unkillable, tough and last forever. Best lume in the business too which is a plus in his job. Also the Hardlex crystal is a lot harder to smash than sapphire especially since it's 3.5mm thick!

I'd be buying one from Reto, you may get it a little cheaper elsewhere but I doubt it will be much and his come with the bracelet which is one of the very best on any dive watch. I can highly recomend the guy, I buy a lot from him and by that I mean 30 - 50 watches a year.

Wow, that looks great, I think we have a winner!

No better choice mate. It also has one of the most simple MVTs in existence.
These things get 20 years without a service, easy. I wear mine splitting wood, chainsawing, shooting and a lot of things you are not supposed to do with an automatic watch with no ill effects what so ever.

I have sold probably 20 of them over three years and never had an issue.

My father (who can afford all the gen rollies) is wearing a Seiko.

Much respect for the brand. :woot:
