Hello,

Does anyone know why this watch is so cheap? Located here. I'm thinking about buying this for a friend and don't want to spend too much, would you recommend this? http://www.silix-prime.com/rol154-p-2072.html

Cheap 21j rep. Plus its red lol, good to use for case, bracelet and movement on a cheap build, just throw in a decent dial and insert. Good beater

For those thinking, wow, movement alone is worth that, it is not. It is not the dg2813 we have come to love or hate, it is some other movement and the hands are a different size. That sub is fine if you want to throw on a noob dial or something but otherwise that is all.

There's nothing wrong with the "Silix Specials" as long as you realize what you are getting. They make great "throw-away" beaters and stuff to practice certain modding techniques on.

This watch has a very cheap movement, besides it is red (no popular colour) and with a inscription Coca-cola (horrible).
It is clear a cleaning of stock of the dealer !!
Anyway, if you like the watch it is a true bargain !!!!!!

+1 to what jmb said. I have several of these "Specials." For the money, they're great daily beaters. When the movement dies, just throw in another one. The SeaDweller and Omega PO (orange) are more than 1.5 years old & still ticking. It's your choice. In doubt? Buy the red Rollie for yourself and check it out.

What? No love for the famed ColaMariner? Geeeze . . .
For 29 bucks you can't go wrong with the Silix specials.

I have a few Silix specials. To me the Seamastei bracelets are horribly cheap feeling. With another strap they are a decent looking watch for $30. I also bought the blue Sub. Compared to my $55 Timeshops Noob Sub, it has a cheaper feeling clasp on the bracelet and the movement sits in a huge plastic ring. To me, the $55 Timeshops RWI special Sub is a better deal for what you get.

I too picked up a few silix specials including the blue sub. For 30 bones it is a good beat around and doesn't look half bad. The general public wouldn't know the difference. The worst past is the bracelet, but if you can get over that you are fine!

Did Rolex ever actually make a Coke (let alone even a red) watch?
