Hi All,

Just a few picture of my Seiko Fifty Five Fathoms, which I have fitted with a Staib Mesh:

You can see how I did a dial swap here:

Awesome timepiece, takes on a nice vintage flavor with the mods.

BTW....did the Staib mesh come with that deployant?

Yes, it's the standard Staib deployant. Incidentally I was was originally inspired to build this by your Seiko FFF - saw a wrist-shot you posted around Christmas time! :)

Great looking watch. I wore my 5 all weekend. I do have one question, does the day wheel continue to turn underneath the new dial? Being the dial is pressure fitted I was just wondering how the clearance is.

BTW it looks great on the mesh. I put a black sailcloth strap with gold stiching on mine. Luvin it.

Nice job OW. I didn't realise a Seiko could look so good.

It's a great watch BB, a poor man's version of a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms and with the replacement dial it's the next best thing to the gen.

Oh....you can do all sorts of things with Seikos. ;)

I have the exact same watch as above....and here's the "silver" version with the date wheel at 4 o'clock....this is the latest FFF dial available IIRC:

Thank you!

I've left the day wheel in place, there is a spacer between the dial and movement so there's no issue with it clashing with the underside of the dial.

These watches look even better in person. The case is solid with great curved lines on the back sides. It's also bigger and better finished than your average Seiko 5.

What's the best way to get ahold of one of these dials?

Go for it, it is fairly easy, just make sure you've got the right tools, a quiet workspace and a bit of patience ;)
